Since about 2005 I’ve been on a long journey, to prove to people that YES SECOND LIFE does have Great Music…and it seems these days, with all the different viewers and new users it just keeps getting harder and harder to find.  I received a notice from a popular group about a meeting in Second Life, with some of the Lindens possibly showing up….I received the notice several times, because they stressed HOW IMPORTANT THIS WAS…I arrived (after several hard core crashes) about 20 min after the time it started. There were several people standing around…and after several minutes they finally said “Meetings over, we’re in skype”…which means ??? The meeting is in skype and why wasn’t that announced, OR the person is in skype and just Too Busy to let me know…as a participant and interested musician….eventualy the person (not a linden) said “With someone else”……which makes me think WHY Was this message SO important to get out, if the meeting didn’t last more than….20 min? TOPS!   and the person that sent the Numerous messages, was no where in site. The One Linden that was there, didn’t seem to notice anyone else coming in, and the group messages showed a couple Messages of IT HAS STARTED BUT NO ONE IS HERE…….

That’s only ONE of the things we like to discuss in Second Life. THe meeting was to be about EVENTS Listings etc….music, diff tracks on music….must not have been that important.  And Music…ONCE in awhile I get a nice advantage to be able to listen to different music from different countries around the world.  Although I must say it is Most difficult … considering the current MESS that Live Music Events is, there are so many categories in one file….hardly efficient… yet it is how I check out music…since I have no intention of following EVERY Musician I like, there aren’t enough groups for that NOR do I want the spam…SO I use live MUSIC events, that’s what it’s for!  There are also several MASSIVE groups out there, Independent Musicians and Live Music Enthusiasts, both have been around almost as long as Live Music has been around. I was there when Live Music Just started..back in 2005.  THere were about a half dozen or so of us at the time……  Now, to find a Live MUSICIAN..is almost impossible.   Sooooo I’ve heard the 14 yr old on Karoke, I’ve heard the bathroom singers, the happy singers, those that NEVER play in Real life, those that do both, those that think they can sound just like Celine Dion, those that do country, folk, blues, humor .. i’ve heard it ALL, I truly have…..and my ears favor that one instrument and that one voice, but I LOVE some of what i’ve heard w ith backing tracks…and DJ’S!!! I know a fantastic dj who plays guitar as well as tells us the story behind various songs and styles, he is  brilliant!!! ( Christopher Lung aka Chriscloud loon in SL )…..

…So about 6 years ago (i took one year off) I started Naked AcoustiC Sessions, which is a showcase for Original Musicians…a very relaxed atmosphere where a songwriter/musician can experiment with their new material, tell the audience the story behind it, share some insight….even some Question and Answer moments are embedded in the conversation and music.  Some musicians do a cover or two because of the importance to the song….as it represents the story at hand…..And lately I’ve been looking into other aspects of Naked Acoustic…Naked COmedy, Naked Poetry, Naked Art….etc….giving US the audience and insight into the Mind of these talented souls….

I do this for a few reasons….Because I LOVE THE ARTISTS that perform at Living Room #13 for the Naked AcoustiC Sessions, and I love the vibe, the good ‘juju’ they bring, the melting pot of fans flowing from one musicians to another, the community that happens…. I don’t have dance balls, I don’t have games or exploders, because Naked Acoustics isn’t about anything BUT the Musician…and that is it. It’s not about the venue (although the venue completely focuses on music and art) it’s not about what kind of clothes people wear, or how many prims they wanna lag around with them, it’s NOT about managers or hosts..it IS about the musician. In fact, managers and hosts are encouraged to ONLY shout the artist out ONCE in the beginnng and ONCE in the end….for an hour set…..it’s just respect for the chat and the ambience that the Living Room #13 has always prided itself in.   Forcing Midnight is your best viewing experience…. Living ROom #13 Many of the Musicians that perform at Living Room have approached me to perform there, and almost every musician has asked to come back! Each week, someone new is added to the rotation, and there are 30 min sets and one hour sets….Some weeks we have a Large number of Fantastic Performers and some weeks we have a minimum of 4….My favorite part is, exposing different artists, to other artists, and to attract new fans to each various artist that steps up on that stage. I was thinking…well, more like dreading Halloween, it’s really not one of my favorite times of the year and I’m just not into sitting at my front door for 4 hours and handing out candy, to kids who just say ‘trick or treat’…the last time I participated in such festivities, I found myself demanding the kids to DO SOMETHING, and to my surprise, they sang, or danced, or told little kid jokes….but on the other side of things…I was thinking…what are some of the scariest, or most bizarre, disturbing situations you’ve ever experienced…or more like, have I?  The kind of scary where your heart turns to ice and starts shaking rapidly in your chest. THe kind of fear that makes you break out in a cold sweat and almost feel as if you are frozen, like someone just put you on pause.

As a child, I do remember feeling instant fear, whenever my mother would ask me to go into the basement, to get a jar of pickles, or green beans. We had an old school house that was made into a home…thanks to my grandpa and his handy skills…between he and my dad, we had a pretty cool pad. The kitchen, had a door, that led out into a closed in patio…full with giant cubby hole, a slight inner deck with a half wall around it. Then the stairs…cement stairs, several of them down, before you turned left and walked a ways to the front door of the house…or, to the basement….about 12 more cement steps down to an old french glass door with a big gloomily dull knob.  I could feel my stomach feeling like someone just tossed ice inside me, and I would instantly have the urge to have to go to the barthroom, because my stomach was nervous and swirling like a squeeky rat on a wheel, running fast and going nowhere. I put my hand on the knob, turned it…breathing shallow now…and then, count 5 steps in complete blackness, hand extended, to find the string, to pull the string, so I could have light.  By now I’m a mess, I can hardly stand it, I grab the pickles and run like a kitten from the giant dog…(that’s very fast by the way)…and that’s it…that was plenty adventure for me in one day.  Other things scared me a child…real things, like death, and seeing people, that were dead…that freaked me out. I saw it once…I don’t think I’ll be all too excited to see another…I hope everyone gets cremated, that way I’ll never have to look at what was once a beautiful animated being….suddenly inanimate, lifeless. WOW a lot is happening! I haven’t updated in a bit, in between 3 mice who passed on (2 because of JuJu my lovely murderer ferret) lol!!! And another just passed on his own…..THEN I celebrated an amazing 12 years of marriage with the Love of my Life. My grandaughter Alexis was born….on our 12 year anniversary…how COOL IS THAT!

There she is…..I keep hearing that Stevie Wonder song in my head EVERY TIME I see this little amazing bundle of love…’ Isn’t she lovely….’ that song has been stuck in my head since she was born. JUNE 6…4.pm…same time my husband and I celebrated the RECEPTION when we got married.  Pretty amazing eh?

I have written a few new songs in the past month or so, … It’s been a LONG TIME since I’ve written THREE in a month…so I feel great about that. They will be available on the new cd…..(not date set yet, but absolutely this year)  As far as my last CD “Untitled #13″ you all rock, that bought it!!! And if you didn’t…well just go to the Tab at the top of the page #13…and get it FOR GODS SAKE!!!!! LOL

I will update in a Proper way, soon, right now life has me by the hair and as long as it doesn’t YANK it out, I’m cool! I’m looking forward to a summer filled with Music, Jams, Friends and love!

Most of the people I am fortunate enough to know in my life, creative minds…no matter what, all have these ideas..ideas and more ideas. Most of them, never do all their ideas, in fact, no one does that I’m aware of, we tend to focus on One…and do all we can to make it happen.  Some of mine include … currently, taking a photograph and detailing the ingredients of everything I eat. Part of me wants to do this, for food awareness, because I believe food plays an incredible part in our emotional states as well as our health/happiness. I’m also fascinated with food synergy, how powerful food is, when combined with certain types of other foods. Would this be something my readers would want to see?  One of the other reasons I want to do this, is for all the people that I speak to ( on the phone and via the world wide web ) Have told me how much they like the ‘food’ things I post on facebook, etc…as well as flickr.

Food plays a big part in moods, just like it does with anything else in life. Diabetics need to be aware of what they ingest, as well as those with a variety of other various challenges in life. I, with my  bipolar, tend to stay away from red meat, as it tends to irritate me, kind of pisses me off really. No reason, but that my body just doesn’t like to digest it perhaps. I’ll NEVER pass up a bite of my husbands Grilling of steaks…because they are just THAT GOOD, but it’s just a bite…I’m satisfied then..I just wanted a taste and have no desire to eat the whole thing (unless it’s slightly  burnt and very red in the center!)

If I do this idea, which I’m already doing, really, in a micro blog type way….I’ll be posting photos of at least 1 meal a day, with the basic ingredients and how to’s of it. WARNING! I LOVE FOOD, a LOT! But I’m also a super healthy eater….(don’t mistake this with being healthy..I just EAT healthy!) lmao!….Lots of veggies, lots of color. If you’re into this…let me know, I would Love some loyal Food Connisuers  to share wonderful ideas with!

Here’s one.

I Love taking Ciabatta bread, spraying with olive oil, pressing down on a hot pan……both sides. Sprinkling parm. cheese all over the top, crushing a few lavender flowers on top of that, a shake of fresh ground black pepper…a fresh spray of olive oil, press down in hot pan again for a minute or less…depending on your HOTNESS…….the parm. cheese forms a wonderful crust….(I’m a lover of lavender…this is your preferences here…lavender has a strong, pungent, distinctive flavor, use sparingly)…..

Dried basil sprinkled on it might be good too……..

A few days ago, in this odd November weather, warming up to almost surreal temperatures and giving the leaves, all the impression they were made of paper thin, beautifully lite up flames all around the floors of the forest.  I grabbed a small bag and shoved all the different colors in them, and let them sit inside a giant picture frame for a few days…they dried out, and I placed one in the late afternoon sun, on a piece of white paper, the shadows were brilliant, as I moved the leaf, it reminded me of those handpuppet shadows we all did as kids, with a big flashlight behind our hand….they took on strange shapes, so I did a small series of them. Sharing them with you here .

It’s been a long couple months, from traveling to California for the SLCC 09, where I had the opportunity (which I Took FULL advantage of) to meet many of the musicians and people that have supported my music, over the years. One of the highlights was hearing Philip Lindens Keynote  on Virtual Worlds….Second Life.  Cylindrian, Beth Odets, Mash Rhode, Lyndon Heart, EvaMoon, Katydidsomething, Apple and Nusas…and SO many more, were great highlights! Jammin in the lobby with Dan, (RosedropRust) and Pato Milo were Highlights as well.

So now things simmer a bit…but not much, and I’m pushing myself 1. to find a job……. but also, in my spare time, I’m pushing the New CD. I don’t have a title yet, but it has a slight ‘string theme’ of redemption, forgiveness, mercy, sin with heavy flavors of distorted religion and sex. Great combo? Not sure, but that’s how I write and DAMN if I can help how I write. That is something I have little control over. When the song wants to come out, just like giving birth, you’re sometimes not sure WHAT it’s going to be or HOW it’s going to arrange itself…..Words are like puzzle pieces in my mind and it’s up to me to put them in an order, the feels right, to what I want to present you listeners with. Sometimes this is my greatest struggle, but I am always satisfied, the day…that I can present it….when it ‘feels’ finished.
