Little Insanities

Little Insanities

A long time ago, I wrote a song called ‘Little Insanities’…one of those songs I really never performed at all, and attempted it, during a show in Second Life(tm).

It was written in about 1994, as I reflected back at some ‘madness’ in my life and tried to make sense of it all…and it didn’t necessarily make sense, neither does the song… unless, perhaps one has been in such a place in life.

I’m posting it here as a sample of what will be on the Final Release CD… Those of you that have purchased the Limited Edition, will also have this song on their physical copy. Thank you, for all your support!

So it only seems appropriate for this Halloween, to put up a song that reflects, probably one of the scariest times in my life…. This is not the final recording, it’s quite raw and rather simple….

Thanks for listening :)

Live Simulcast

During the Broadcast

During the Broadcast

Last nights performance with TwinCitiesRadio.net and A440 Studios along with
MJ Kroll as our lovey host,
went GREAT.
Had me a little star struck with all the lights,
and giant silver Umbrellas.
There were people from A400 Studios, camera people,
snapshots being taken,
a whole production,
stage set up, all to Present 4 Musicians,
who are listed on the Twin Cities Radio show.
It was a thrill to perform with such great talent
and the studio staff and
radio were both generous and helpful setting us up.

In other news. I”m still processing this New CD. I have pretty much all the songs recorded, but now it’s a matter of coding it, or finding the ‘theme’ that ties it all together. This process, is a highlight, a challenge, as well as frustrating. Everything I hear around me, feel around me is playing a part in some final song that I can feel stirring around inside. When it’s ready, it’ll happen and the CD will come together.   Just like with my last two iTunes CD’s “Without My Wings” and “Certain Kind of Mad” it will again, be available on iTunes.  IF you want to order the actual Physical CD, you will have to message me a bout that, it can be and will be done as well.
I recorded this last cd, in process in my home studio, as I dare mess with kbps, and get tighter, more clear tones. I was flattered when Studio Zero Seven asked where I recorded my last couple songs, and I replied “Here at home”….He was quite impressed with it, which is a BIG COMPLIMENT to me, as it takes TIME and TIME and TIME and challenges, to get a good sound. So I’m proud to have self produced all of this, (possibly using one or two of the recordings from Studio Zero Seven as well)  “Certain Kind Of Mad” was recorded in Studio Zero Seven.

Bipolar. Dreams. Seeing Sound. Hearing Color

So there is a topic, I think often about, in fact there are quite a few, but I can try to keep it ‘slim’ here and not go on and on.

http://www.school-for-champions.com/senses/synesthesia.htm

This is basically when more than one sense, crosses with another….for example, Hearing Color. Seeing Sound.

This holds especially true for artists, who are also likely to have Bipolar Disorder, which means a bit of an extreme from High to Low in moods, as if we feel everything, that everyone else does, except it’s like being Under a HUGE magnifying glass. Meaning, we laugh a bit louder, feel a bit more, probably hear better than most and probably have a sense of smell that would scare a bloodhound. Two key symptoms in bipolar disorder are, Hyper Awareness and Hyper Sensitivity. It’s as I said, like being under a magnifying glass. You see it to, and so does she and so do they, but someone with bipolar, it’s just a bit more in depth, there is sensitivity that blows here, and we hear a word and almost cry, a song becomes of it, a painting manifests.  Many of the artists and writers and creatives Do have bipolar

Something to research, especially if you have it.

Ticketed Show at Living Room #13 Experience

Last night I opened up the Naked Acoustic Sessions, for our 3rd Season at my Living Room #13 LIVING ROOM #13 (second life) http://slurl.com/secondlife/Gwampa%20Tropics/68/33/485h

I had a strong line up of talented songwriters/performers who were sharing the stories behind their songs and the ideas and events that led to the writing of their songs. It was a very intimate experience and all and all we had about 20 people there throughout the show, sometimes the crowd thinned out and sometimes it became warm with a quietness of a dedicated crowd.  Out of all the people that came to see the 5 Musicians …Only 1 person complained about the cover charge. She said Phht, PAY for LIVE MUSIC what a WASTE!” at which time another fan in the audience said “you waste more money on a latte from starbucks, THIS is a STEAL!’…we bid her goodbye, it was unnecessary for her to even show up, considering the Event was well advertised as a Ticketed Event, which came to $2, which covered all 5 musicians.

The Land feature to charge, did not work, and the vendor I had which is truly amazing, worked for few times, and then decided it didn’t want to work anymore. So basically most people got in, without paying the cover charge. I decided the hassel was not worth it, as the show was happening and I didn’t want people to get ejected for not paying, IF the system were to suddenly work.

New CD and other stuff

Concept Image

Concept Image

It’s been a long couple months, from traveling to California for the SLCC 09, where I had the opportunity (which I Took FULL advantage of) to meet many of the musicians and people that have supported my music, over the years. One of the highlights was hearing Philip Lindens Keynote  on Virtual Worlds….Second Life.  Cylindrian, Beth Odets, Mash Rhode, Lyndon Heart, EvaMoon, Katydidsomething, Apple and Nusas…and SO many more, were great highlights! Jammin in the lobby with Dan, (RosedropRust) and Pato Milo were Highlights as well.

So now things simmer a bit…but not much, and I’m pushing myself 1. to find a job……. but also, in my spare time, I’m pushing the New CD. I don’t have a title yet, but it has a slight ‘string theme’ of redemption, forgiveness, mercy, sin with heavy flavors of distorted religion and sex. Great combo? Not sure, but that’s how I write and DAMN if I can help how I write. That is something I have little control over. When the song wants to come out, just like giving birth, you’re sometimes not sure WHAT it’s going to be or HOW it’s going to arrange itself…..Words are like puzzle pieces in my mind and it’s up to me to put them in an order, the feels right, to what I want to present you listeners with. Sometimes this is my greatest struggle, but I am always satisfied, the day…that I can present it….when it ‘feels’ finished.
